SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 973
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Carolyn Pierel, who is retiring after five years of
outstanding service as superintendent of the Argyle Independent
School District; and
       WHEREAS, A longtime educator, Carolyn Pierel taught high
school for 18 years before moving into the administrative field,
where she has been for the last 17 years; and
       WHEREAS, A talented and resourceful individual, she has
handled her many responsibilities as a superintendent with
exceptional efficiency and dedication; and
       WHEREAS, Throughout her long and productive career,
Carolyn Pierel has carried out her duties with integrity and
fairness, and through her achievements and abilities, she has
contributed immeasurably to the educational system of the Argyle
Independent School District; and
       WHEREAS, An exemplary educator and administrator, she is
admired and respected by students and by her colleagues, and her
presence with the Argyle Independent School District will be
greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Carolyn Pierel on her
exceptional service to the Argyle Independent School District
and our state and extend to her best wishes for the retirement
years ahead; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
