SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 982

Eva Marie Mosby |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Eva Marie Mosby, |
|
who died April 23, 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Eva Marie married James E. Mosby, Jr., in 1936, |
|
one year after she graduated from Tillotson College; and |
|
WHEREAS, She and her late husband worked closely together |
|
as educators and church and community volunteers for many years; |
|
they were two of the five founding members of Holy Cross Catholic |
|
Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, A leader in her community, Mrs. Mosby was active |
|
with Catholic Charities, Caritas, Texas Conference of Churches, |
|
the Austin Historic Landmark Commission, the Saint Vincent de Paul |
|
Society, Ladies of Charity of Austin, the American Red Cross, |
|
and many other organizations; and |
|
WHEREAS, Noted for her charm, her kindness, and her |
|
enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest, Eva Marie Mosby |
|
made a significant difference in the lives of others; she was a |
|
dearly loved mother and grandmother, and she will be greatly |
|
missed; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the |
|
bereaved family of Eva Marie Mosby: her daughters and sons-in-law, |
|
Eva Marie and James Hill, Mary Bacon, Bernadette and William Cay, |
|
Gloria Aldridge, and Naomi White; her son and daughters-in-law, |
|
Gerard and Lynetta Mosby and Grace Mosby; her sister, |
|
Marjorie Harp; and her 18 grandchildren and seven |
|
great-grandchildren; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy |
|
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Eva Marie Mosby. |
