SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 986
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Melissa Renee Bannon for earning a Girl Scout Gold
  Award; and
 
         WHEREAS, Few receive this distinguished award, the highest
  level of achievement in the Girl Scout program; and
 
         WHEREAS, Through the process of earning the Gold Award,
  girls develop a lifelong commitment to community service and gain
  skills that will contribute to their future success; and
 
         WHEREAS, Melissa has displayed leadership by designing and
  conducting a service project that will have a positive and
  lasting effect on her community; she created activities to
  benefit and involve senior residents of CareChoice Nursing and
  Rehabilitation Center in Boerne; and
 
         WHEREAS, In receiving the Gold Award, Melissa has brought
  great honor to herself, her family, her council, her community,
  and her state, and she deserves recognition for her
  accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby commend Melissa Renee Bannon on
  receiving this prestigious award and congratulate her on her
  outstanding achievement; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
