SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 989

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Baylor Medical Center at Garland, which has received the 2007 VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence from VHA, Incorporated; and

WHEREAS, VHA, Incorporated, a national health care alliance, grants the award to health care organizations that distinguish themselves through their high performance on clinical core measures; Baylor Medical Center at Garland received this prestigious award for its acute myocardial infarction treatment and surgical infection prevention; and

WHEREAS, Baylor Medical Center at Garland offers advanced medical technology in heart and vascular care, neurosurgery, breast health, women's services, neonatal intensive care, digestive disease, medical imaging, senior health care, and physical medicine and rehabilitation; and

WHEREAS, Committed to safe, high-quality, compassionate patient care, the physicians, clinical staff, and administrative teams at Baylor Medical Center at Garland are truly deserving of recognition for their many contributions to the improvement of health care in the Garland area; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Baylor Medical Center at Garland for its commitment to outstanding patient care and extend congratulations on receiving the 2007 VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the medical center as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
