SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 993

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Audrey Glenn for her outstanding service on behalf of the Boys and Girls Club and her many contributions to the civic life of her community; and

WHEREAS, Audrey Glenn is the owner of The Write Shop, which offers a full line of office supplies, printing services, and educational products and holds contracts to supply national and state agencies and numerous school districts in the Three Rivers and George West area; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Glenn has served on the board of the Boys and Girls Club since 2000 and was its president from 2003 through 2006; she was instrumental in organizing the master plan that was used in preparing its Parks and Wildlife grant application; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Glenn has given generously of her time and energy to the Boys and Girls Club in many ways; she has given art supplies, thousands of copies, a fax machine, and other services to be used as payment in kind, and her generous donation of two vans has made the logistics of field trips much easier; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Glenn was recognized by President Bush as an Outstanding Businesswoman in 2000 and she has been named Lions Club Citizen of the Year; she truly is deserving of recognition for her generosity and her many achievements; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Audrey Glenn for her many contributions to the community and extend to her best wishes in all her future endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
