SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1003

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay tribute to Juanita Mason, who recently celebrated her 90th birthday; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Mason was born in Rockwood on April 14, 1917, to John and Annis Peterson; and

WHEREAS, She married John Powell Mason on February 22, 1936, in a memorable ceremony in a church parsonage, where a quilting bee was in progress; she has always taken great pride in her two daughters, Teri and the late Zane; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Boling, Juanita Mason is known as a generous and caring neighbor; she is a devout Christian and an avid reader, and she especially enjoys children and being with her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community, Juanita Mason is noted for her compassion for others, her positive outlook on life, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby recognize Juanita Mason as a treasured citizen of this state and congratulate her on the grand occasion of her 90th birthday; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her in honor of this occasion.
