SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1023
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the United Heritage Credit Union of Austin on its 50th
  anniversary, which was celebrated January 15, 2007; and
 
         WHEREAS, The United Heritage Credit Union was first
  established as the Military Federal Credit Union and consisted
  of eight charter members and $40 in deposits; today, with more
  than 62,000 members and $450 million in assets, United Heritage
  Credit Union continues to seek innovative ways to compete with
  large financial institutions and has become a strong force in the
  credit union industry; and
 
         WHEREAS, United Heritage Credit Union is a growing company
  that serves its members with a steadfast commitment to the credit
  union philosophy of "People Helping People"; and
 
         WHEREAS, In 2003, the credit union established the United
  Heritage Charity Foundation to support the many charitable projects
  in which the company participates; since its inception, the
  foundation has distributed more than $500,000 to numerous local
  charities, including Austin Smiles, the Ronald McDonald House of
  Austin, and Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas; and
 
         WHEREAS, The United Heritage Credit Union has offered its
  members outstanding financial services through the years and
  continues to grow and gain new members; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby commend all associated with the
  United Heritage Credit Union for its high-quality customer
  service and extend congratulations to all on the occasion of
  the credit union's 50th anniversary; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  United Heritage Credit Union as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate.
