SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1027
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Alfred A. Banzer for his 35 years of outstanding
  service with GTE/Verizon; and
 
         WHEREAS, Alfred Banzer has been the state regulatory
  affairs manager for GTE/Verizon since 1998; before joining
  GTE/Verizon, he was manager of state pricing and tariffs with
  GTE Telephone Operations in Irving from 1993 to 1998; and
 
         WHEREAS, Originally from New York, Mr. Banzer earned
  a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering at the
  University of Maryland; he joined General Telephone Company
  of the Southeast in Durham, North Carolina, in 1972 and held
  various positions in the engineering, planning, regulatory
  affairs, tariffs, and product management departments before
  moving to Texas; and
 
         WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished career, he has
  handled his many responsibilities with exceptional skill and
  dedication and has earned the admiration and respect of his
  colleagues; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby commend Alfred A. Banzer for his
  achievements and his many contributions to GTE/Verizon and
  extend best wishes to him for the future; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
  for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
