SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1029
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Keith Edward Kaiser
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
  of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Keith Edward Kaiser, who
  died April 21, 2007, at the age of 63; and
 
         WHEREAS, Keith Kaiser was a renowned trial lawyer and
  mentor to many successful attorneys at the law firm of
  Cox Smith Matthews in San Antonio; and
 
         WHEREAS, He was born on September 9, 1943, in
  Stillwater, Oklahoma; he was reared in Midland and graduated
  from Texas Tech University; he spent two years in the
  United States Army, including one year as a field artillery
  officer in Vietnam; following his military service, he attended
  law school at Saint Mary's University and graduated in 1971; and
 
         WHEREAS, He was the first law clerk to be hired by the law
  firm then known as Cox and Smith; he spent his entire 36-year
  career with the firm and worked on many high-profile cases; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. Kaiser was well known for his commitment to
  the interests of his clients and his attention to detail; a
  consummate professional, he was inducted into the elite American
  College of Trial Lawyers, an honor open to only one percent of the
  lawyers in any state at any given time; he was also nominated by
  his peers to Texas Monthly magazine's list of "Super Lawyers";
  and
 
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather,
  and he leaves memories that will be treasured forever by his
  family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
  bereaved family of Keith Edward Kaiser: his wife, Diann Bartek;
  his daughter, Blair Wallace Kaiser; his parents,
  Carl and Genevieve Kaiser; his brothers, Terry Kaiser and
  Scott Kaiser; his sisters, Vicki Green and Kim Etheridge; and one
  grandson; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
  do so in memory of Keith Edward Kaiser.
