SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1037
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Vione Koepp
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
  of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Vione "Red" Koepp, who died
  April 4, 2007, at the age of 75; and
         WHEREAS, Called "Red" because of her distinctive hair color,
  Vione Koepp was a popular employee at Luby's Cafeteria; she worked
  as a cashier at the cafeteria for more than 10 years and had
  previously worked for Wyatt's Cafeteria at the same location; and
         WHEREAS, She was raised on a picturesque 160-acre farm near
  Sauk Rapids in central Minnesota; she was a princess in the 1955
  Miss Saint Cloud pageant; in her 20s, she was the executive
  secretary at Royal Granite Company in Saint Cloud; and
         WHEREAS, She enjoyed traveling with her longtime companion,
  Rod Norberg, particularly to Minnesota, Alaska, and the Bahamas;
  and
         WHEREAS, Red Koepp enriched the lives of all who knew her
  with her courage, her kindness, and her generosity of spirit;
  her cheerful spirit and beautiful smile will be deeply missed
  by those individuals who were fortunate enough to have shared
  in her love and friendship; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of
  Vione "Red" Koepp and extend sincere condolences to those
  she left behind; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her loved ones as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day,
  it do so in memory of Vione Koepp.
