SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1043
|
|
WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, |
|
Bobbie and Elvin Currie placed great faith and trust |
|
in the future, and they have been amply rewarded, as |
|
theyare celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The couple met in Ruston, Louisiana, and they |
|
were married there on June 1, 1957; they soon relocated to Dallas; |
|
Mr. Currie served in the military at Fort Bliss and worked in the |
|
food industry in Dallas, and Mrs. Currie worked with special |
|
needs children in the Dallas Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the |
|
years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Currie have cherished |
|
traditional family and moral values; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their |
|
love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and |
|
sorrows of everyday living; they have been blessed with a son, |
|
Marcus, who has brought them much pride and joy; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Their family and friends will join them on |
|
June 2, 2007, for a joyous celebration of their 50th anniversary; |
|
the loving relationship that Bobbie and Elvin Currie share is |
|
truly an inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
80th Legislature, hereby extend congratulations and best wishes |
|
to Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Currie on their golden wedding anniversary; |
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in |
|
their lives. |
