SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1051
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Lauren Tipton for her outstanding work as an intern in
  the Office of Senator Kel Seliger during the 80th Legislative
  Session; and
 
         WHEREAS, A legislative internship provides a unique
  opportunity for students from colleges and universities to work
  in the Texas Legislature and acquire training that will assist
  them in becoming effective leaders in our state; and
 
         WHEREAS, The interns gain firsthand knowledge of the
  governmental process and work experience in a political
  environment, as well as insight into the issues facing our
  communities and our state today; and
 
         WHEREAS, A Bullock Scholar at Baylor University, Lauren is
  a junior and is majoring in political science with a minor in
  business administration; she is a member of the National Society
  of Collegiate Scholars and the Golden Key International Honour
  Society; she is bright and energetic and has been a valuable part
  of the internship team this session; and
 
         WHEREAS, Diligent, resourceful, and talented, Lauren
  skillfully handled the multifaceted duties of the senator's
  office and ably assisted with the needs of constituents; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby commend Lauren Tipton for her dedication
  and excellent work as an intern in the Office of Senator Kel Seliger
  and extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
