SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1052
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Michael McKissack for his outstanding work as an intern
  in the Office of Senator Kel Seliger during the 80th Legislative
  Session; and
 
         WHEREAS, A legislative internship provides a unique
  opportunity for students from colleges and universities to work
  in the Texas Legislature and acquire training that will assist
  them in becoming effective leaders in our state; and
 
         WHEREAS, The interns gain firsthand knowledge of the
  governmental process and work experience in a political
  environment, as well as insight into the issues facing our
  communities and our state today; and
 
         WHEREAS, Michael is a sophomore at The University of Texas
  at Austin and has been interning and carrying a full course load
  this semester; he is a member of Gamma Beta Phi, Alpha Lambda
  Delta, and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Societies and is active in student
  government; he has an exceptional work ethic and keen analytical
  skills and has been a valuable asset to the senator's office this
  session; and
 
         WHEREAS, Diligent, resourceful, and talented, Michael
  skillfully handled the multifaceted duties of the senator's
  office and ably assisted with the needs of constituents; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby commend Michael McKissack for his
  dedication and excellent work as an intern in the Office of
  Senator Kel Seliger and extend to him best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
