SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1053
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Nicole Monsibais for her outstanding work as an intern
  in the Office of Senator Kel Seliger during the 80th Legislative
  Session; and
         WHEREAS, A legislative internship provides a unique
  opportunity for students from colleges and universities to work
  in the Texas Legislature and acquire training that will assist
  them in becoming effective leaders in our state; and
         WHEREAS, The interns gain firsthand knowledge of the
  governmental process and work experience in a political
  environment, as well as insight into the issues facing our
  communities and our state today; and
         WHEREAS, Nicole graduated with honors from
  The University of Texas at Austin with a major in communication
  studies/political communication; she is a Luna Scholar and has a
  wealth of experience in the political field; she has served as a
  "UT in DC Archer Fellow" and as a National Housing Initiative
  intern for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in
  Washington, D.C.; she has been a member of the Phi Eta Sigma and
  the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Societies; she is an energetic young
  lady with a promising future, and she has been a valuable asset to
  the senator's office this session; and
         WHEREAS, Diligent, resourceful, and talented, Nicole
  skillfully handled the multifaceted duties of the senator's office
  and ably assisted with the needs of constituents; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby commend Nicole Monsibais for her
  dedication and excellent work as an intern in the Office of
  Senator Kel Seliger and extend to her best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
