SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1054

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Adam Blanchard for his outstanding work as an intern in the Office of Senator Kel Seliger during the 80th Legislative Session; and

WHEREAS, A legislative internship provides a unique opportunity for students from colleges and universities to work in the Texas Legislature and acquire training that will assist them in becoming effective leaders in our state; and

WHEREAS, The interns gain firsthand knowledge of the governmental process and work experience in a political environment, as well as insight into the issues facing our communities and our state today; and

WHEREAS, A junior at Oklahoma State University, Adam is majoring in economics and legal studies in the Honors College; he was named a "Top Ten Freshman" and is a member of the National Scholars Honor Society; he has been involved in numerous college activities and plans on attending law school; he has proven his ability to grasp complex legislation and has been a valuable part of the internship team this session; and

WHEREAS, Diligent, resourceful, and talented, Adam skillfully handled the multifaceted duties of the senator's office and ably assisted with the needs of constituents; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Adam Blanchard for his dedication and excellent work as an intern in the Office of Senator Kel Seliger and extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
