SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1067
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
of Houston in mourning the loss of Jewell Thigpen Wilson, who
died April 24, 2007; and
       WHEREAS, Jewell Thigpen Wilson was known for her
graciousness, her dignity, and her enthusiasm for living each
day to the fullest; and
       WHEREAS, She was a woman of strength and compassion, and
her generosity and wisdom were an inspiration to all who knew
her; and
       WHEREAS, Beloved by her family and friends, she will long
be remembered with affection and admiration by all who were
privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
bereaved family of Jewell Thigpen Wilson; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
day, it do so in memory of Jewell Thigpen Wilson.
