SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1068
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
  to recognize Robert Gonzalez on the occasion of his retirement;
  and
 
         WHEREAS, A 1963 graduate of Milby Senior High School in
  Houston, Robert joined the Magnolia YMCA boxing team in 1962 and
  later parlayed that interest into a career as a professional
  boxing referee; he has traveled around the world thanks to his
  association with boxing; and
 
         WHEREAS, Robert joined Maxwell House Coffee in 1963 and for
  many years has worked as an industrial mechanic for the company,
  which has gone through many corporate mergers; and
 
         WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Robert has been noted for
  his superior skills and expertise; he has handled his many
  responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; and
 
         WHEREAS, Robert has also served as a member of the fire
  brigade for 34 years, and he became an emergency medical technician
  after witnessing a tragedy occur; and
 
         WHEREAS, Robert is admired and respected by his colleagues,
  and his presence will be greatly missed; following his retirement,
  Robert and his wife, Matilda, plan to spend more time with their
  family and to continue their travels; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby commend Robert Gonzalez on his years
  of service and extend to him best wishes for the retirement years
  ahead; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
  as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
