SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1081
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Alejandro Ochoa, Sr.
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
  of Edinburg in mourning the loss of Alejandro Ochoa, Sr., who
  died April 18, 2007, at the age of 72; and
         WHEREAS, Alejandro Ochoa, Sr., was a lifelong resident and
  longtime employee of the City of Edinburg; he was born in Hargill
  on July 17, 1934; he was a proud Marine who was wounded while he
  was serving his country during the Korean War; he worked for the
  City of Edinburg for 34 years until his retirement in 1991; and
         WHEREAS, Following the death of his parents, Alejandro
  became a father figure for his siblings and a trusted advisor to
  his brother, Joe Ochoa, who has served as the mayor of Edinburg
  for more than 10 years; he was a man of humility who was noted for
  his leadership and exceptional organizational skills; and
         WHEREAS, Alejandro Ochoa was a highly esteemed gentleman
  who was genuinely concerned for the needs of others, and he gave
  generously of his time and resources to his community; and
         WHEREAS, He was devoted to his family and was an
  inspiration to others, and although he will be deeply missed,
  his spirit will abide in the hearts of those he loved for years
  to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
  bereaved family of Alejandro Ochoa, Sr.: his wife, Hilda Ochoa;
  his sons and daughter-in-law, Alejandro Ochoa, Jr., and
  Rosalinda and Alberto Ochoa; his grandson, Alejandro Ochoa III;
  his granddaughter, Carolina Ochoa; his brother, Mayor Joe Ochoa;
  and his sister, Alicia O. Rodriguez; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
  in memory of Alejandro Ochoa, Sr.
