SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1089

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Sanchez Elementary School on the grand occasion of its 30th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Sanchez Elementary School is an innovative school where students strive to make continuous progress and where faculty and staff provide an atmosphere beneficial to learning; and

WHEREAS, The mission of the school is to increase the academic and social growth of its students by providing a conducive learning environment and promoting parental involvement; and

WHEREAS, Sanchez Elementary School has been on the cutting edge of many major new programs and initiatives through the years, including an after-school enrichment program, peer mediation, inclusion, mentoring, and a literacy program for four-year-old children; and

WHEREAS, Under the exemplary leadership of Principal Azucena Garcia, Sanchez Elementary School is a place where everyone works hard to meet and exceed the state and local standards for reading, writing, science, and mathematics; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Sanchez Elementary School for providing its students with the tools and inspiration they need to succeed and extend congratulations to the students, faculty, and staff on the occasion of the school's 30th anniversary; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the school as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. Watson
