SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1092
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
  tribute to Francisco Rodriguez "Pancho" Hernandez on the grand
  occasion of his 70th birthday; and
         WHEREAS, Pancho is an exceptional man who has demonstrated
  a talent for inspiring and motivating people throughout his life;
  and
         WHEREAS, Francisco Rodriguez Hernandez was born on May 11, 1937,
  one of 14 children born to Jose and Rita Rodriguez Hernandez; he
  grew up in El Indio, a small farming community 18 miles south of
  Eagle Pass; and
         WHEREAS, As a young man he organized his family and
  families from the surrounding communities to travel to Wisconsin
  as migrant workers; and
         WHEREAS, In the later part of the 1960s, he moved to
  Austin, where he worked for Austin Engineering; he married
  Elva Gomez Mata on March 9, 1968, and the couple had one daughter,
  Veronica; and
         WHEREAS, On moving back to El Indio, he organized many
  projects that brought together the residents of the town,
  including beauty pageants, boxing matches, community plays,
  dances, and other events; he later moved to Eagle Pass and worked
  in the grocery business before retiring from work with
  Maverick County; and
         WHEREAS, He still plans family reunions and gatherings,
  keeps alive the family traditions, and collects family
  photographs; he is well known for his wonderful sense of humor
  and his gift for storytelling; and
         WHEREAS, Pancho Rodriguez Hernandez is a revered and
  respected member of his community, and his optimistic nature and
  the love and concern he has always shown for his family are truly
  appreciated by all who know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby recognize Francisco Rodriguez Hernandez
  as a treasured citizen of the State of Texas and congratulate him
  on his 70th birthday; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as a memento of this special day.
