SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1123
|
|
|
WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, Jose Luis Nanez |
|
|
and Noemi Ortiz Nanez placed great faith and trust in the future, |
|
|
and they have been amply rewarded, as they are celebrating their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Jose Luis Nanez and Noemi Ortiz Nanez were married |
|
|
at the bride's home in Del Rio on June 14, 1957; the world has |
|
|
changed considerably during the years of their marriage, yet |
|
|
Mr. and Mrs. Nanez have continued to cherish traditional family |
|
|
values; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their |
|
|
love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and |
|
|
sorrows of everyday living; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Nanez have been blessed with a |
|
|
wonderful family; their children, Norma, Jose Luis, Jr., Rick, |
|
|
Jerry, Rudy, and Nora Linda, their many grandchildren, and their |
|
|
new great-grandchild have been a source of much pride and joy; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Leading by example, Mr. and Mrs. Nanez have |
|
|
instilled in their family a love of learning, a strong work |
|
|
ethic, and a positive outlook on life; they have both been vital |
|
|
members of the Del Rio community and have been honored by the |
|
|
American G.I. Forum, with which they are actively involved; |
|
|
Mr. Nanez also served as a school board member of the San Felipe |
|
|
Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Jose Luis Nanez and |
|
|
Noemi Ortiz Nanez is truly an inspiration to everyone who is |
|
|
fortunate enough to know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
|
80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to |
|
|
Mr. and Mrs. Nanez on their 50th wedding anniversary; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in |
|
|
their lives. |
