SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1131
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Saint Thomas High School baseball team for winning
  the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class 6A
  state championship title; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Eagles held on to defeat Saint Pius X High
  School 5-4 to win their second state championship in four years;
  and
 
         WHEREAS, These young athletes have demonstrated great
  talent and perseverance throughout the school year, and team
  members can take great pride in their performance; and
 
         WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise
  of coach Ken Schulte, the Eagles have developed exceptional
  teamwork and discipline; and
 
         WHEREAS, The students, faculty, and staff of Saint Thomas
  High School are proud of the Eagles for their hard work, their
  impressive skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore,
  be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby commend the Saint Thomas High School
  Eagles for their successful baseball season and extend
  congratulations to them on winning the Texas Association of
  Private and Parochial Schools Class 6A state championship title;
  and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the team as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
