SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1178
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Tom and Doris Adams, who are exemplary citizens of
  Calera, Oklahoma; and
 
         WHEREAS, Doris Adams is a native of Lewisville, Texas; she
  and her husband, Tom, are talented writers and have coauthored
  a poem about Texas, which they wish to share with our state's
  citizens; and
 
         WHEREAS, The poem is a sweeping description of our state's
  history, landscape, and characteristic traits and traditions; it
  portrays a land of picturesque plains and open spaces and speaks
  of our trademark events, features, and noted places; and
 
         WHEREAS, Tom and Doris Adams deserve recognition for
  generously committing their time and energy to writing a piece
  that truly captures the spirit of Texas; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby extend appreciation to
  Tom and Doris Adams for writing their poem about our great
  state and congratulate them on their eloquent verse; and,
  be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
  for Tom and Doris Adams as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate.
