SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1192

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to join the City of Houston in recognizing June 23, 2007, as XVI Concurso Dia del Niño; and

WHEREAS, Concurso Dia del Niño is an event that gives students the opportunity to win computers, software courses, books, bicycles, and other awards; the school winner receives a computer laboratory; and

WHEREAS, The event is made possible because of the generosity of its sponsors, the cooperation of the school districts, and the participation of students and their parents; and

WHEREAS, The goal of Concurso Dia del Niño is to highlight the importance of technological education for young people and to help provide them with the information and the tools they will need to prepare for the future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to all those involved with Concurso Dia del Niño for a memorable and successful event and declare June 23, 2007, as XVI Concurso Dia del Niño; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a memento of this special day.
