SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1193
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Marian Givens-Rollins on the occasion of her
  retirement from Eastwood Knolls School in El Paso; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Rollins has been teaching for 35 years; she
  began her career in 1972 at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School in
  Baltimore, Maryland; she has been at Eastwood Knolls School since
  the fall of 1981; and
 
         WHEREAS, Her students have benefited greatly from her
  skillful teaching methods, her sincere concern for the
  individual, and her wise counsel and encouragement; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Rollins has remained in the teaching
  profession for so many years because of her desire to make a
  positive difference in the lives of children; she has instilled
  in her students a sense of pride and a lifelong love of learning;
  and
 
         WHEREAS, A teacher of unsurpassed knowledge and
  experience, she is loved by her students and is an inspiration to
  her colleagues, and her presence at Eastwood Knolls School will
  be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby commend Marian Givens-Rollins on her
  many outstanding contributions to the educational system of
  El Paso and our state and extend to her best wishes for the
  retirement years ahead; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
