R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th |
|
Legislature, Regular Session, 2007, That Senate Rule 12.03 be |
|
suspended in part as provided by Senate Rule 12.08 to enable the |
|
conference committee appointed to resolve the differences on House |
|
Bill 3609 (membership and service credit in the Employees |
|
Retirement System of Texas for certain employees) to consider and |
|
take action on the following matter: |
|
Senate Rules 12.03(3) and (4) are suspended to permit the |
|
committee to add text to Section 2 of the bill by adding new |
|
Subsection (b) to read as follows: |
|
(b) A member of the Employees Retirement System of Texas who |
|
is an appointed or elected officer of the 80th House of |
|
Representatives, as determined by the House Journal, and who has |
|
also served on the staff of a state judicial agency, and who has at |
|
least 15 years of service credit in the retirement system, may |
|
transfer the person's service credit to the elected class. A person |
|
who makes a transfer under this provision may continue to transfer |
|
the credit between classes before or after retirement. |
|
Explanation: This change is necessary to ensure certain |
|
individuals employed by the house of representatives during the |
|
80th Legislature may transfer the person's service credit in the |
|
Employees Retirement System of Texas to the elected class. |
