SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1209
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Department of Texas Marine Corps League on the
  occasion of its 37th annual convention, which is being held
  June 7 through 10, 2007, in San Antonio; and
 
         WHEREAS, A nonprofit veterans' organization comprised of
  former United States Marines, the Marine Corps League was granted
  a federal charter by the United States Congress in 1937; and
 
         WHEREAS, One of the primary objectives of the Marine Corps
  League is to recognize and honor all Marines who have lost their
  lives; it has dedicated itself to that goal through the Fallen
  Marine Program, which was implemented in 2002 by Galveston County
  Detachment 668; and
 
         WHEREAS, It is indeed fitting that all Texans reaffirm
  their gratitude to those patriots who lost their lives after
  loyally serving our country and to all Marines who have served
  our nation and defended its safety and security; now, therefore,
  be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby commend the Department of Texas Marine
  Corps League for its exemplary work at maintaining unity and
  pride among former Marines and extend best wishes for a memorable
  37th annual convention; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the league as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
