SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1210

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Zach Gautier, who is being honored as a recipient of one of Time Warner Cable's National Teacher Awards; and

WHEREAS, A teacher at Jasper High School in Plano, Mr. Gautier will receive a $2,000 cash grant, a $3,000 technology grant for Jasper High School, and a trip to Washington, D.C., for the official presentation ceremony on June 5, 2007; he is one of only 15 national honorees; and

WHEREAS, An exceptionally resourceful and dedicated teacher, Mr. Gautier is an innovative educator who has distinguished himself in his profession; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Gautier's students have benefited greatly from his skillful teaching methods, his sincere concern for the individual, and his wise counsel and encouragement; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Gautier is a talented instructor and leader, and he instills in his students a sense of pride and a love of learning; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Zach Gautier for his exceptional contributions to his students and to the educational system of our state and extend to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
