No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would provide that a landlord make a diligent effort to remedy a situation which arises from the landlord’s failure to provide and maintain in good operating condition a device to supply hot water. Provisions of the bill could result in new complaints, investigations or cases by the Office of the Attorney General, but it is assumed that any additional costs associated with implementing the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
This act takes effect September 1, 2007.
