HB279 by Madden (Relating to the continuing education requirements for a licensed chemical dependency counselor.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code as it relates to the continuing education requirements for a licensed chemical dependency counselor.

The change in law made by this Act would apply to the renewal of a license under Chapter 504, Occupations Code, that expires on or after January 1, 2008.

The executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission would be required to adopt rules and the Department of State Health Services would be required to adopt procedures necessary to implement Section 504.205(b), Occupations Code, as amended by this Act, not later than November 1, 2007.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
