April 16, 2007

TO:
Honorable Harvey Hilderbran, Chair, House Committee on Culture, Recreation, & Tourism

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB300 by Farrar (Relating to requiring warning signs regarding mercury levels in certain fish.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require that retail fish dealers post warning signs regarding mercury levels in certain fish and that the Department of Agriculture (TDA) by rule would specify the size and graphic design of these warning signs.

Any rulemaking that would be required by TDA is not expected to result in significant costs to the agency.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
