Honorable David Swinford, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs
FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB301 by Farrar (Relating to an abortion when a fetal abnormality is detected.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would allow a person to obtain voluntary and informed consent to an abortion without complying with the requirements for such consent set forth in Health and Safety Code, Chapter 171, Subchapter B if a severe and irreversible abnormality in the fetus is detected. The Department of State Health Services estimates no fiscal impact as existing staff will revise licensing rules.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
