LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

February 16, 2007

TO:
Honorable David Swinford, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB364 by Jones, Delwin (Relating to authority to conduct a closed meeting to discuss certain personnel matters involving a municipal advisory body.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 51.0745, Government Code, by authorizing a municipal advisory body to discuss certain personnal matters involving a member of the body without conducting an open meeting, unless the member being discussed requests an open meeting. Current statute provides this authority only to a county advisory body.

Local Government Impact

The local government would experience a small savings in posting notices by being able to conduct business for the stated purpose in a closed meeting. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
