IN RE: | HB433 by Madden (Relating to disclosure by the inspector general of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice of the identifying information of victims of sex offenses who are confined in a facility operated by or under contract with the department.), As Engrossed |
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure by adding that the inspector general of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is the exception of the article and is not prohibited from disclosing a victim’s identifying information to a TDCJ employee if the victim is an inmate or state jail defendant confined in a facility operated by or under contract with TDCJ. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice has determined that the cost of implementing the bill would not be significant.
