No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure by adding to the list of peace officers, officers who are appointed by the inspector general of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). The bill would also amend the Government Code by allowing the inspector general of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to appoint employees who are certified peace officers to serve under the direction of the inspector general assisting and performing the enforcement duties of the department. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice has determined that the costs associated with implementing the bill would not be significant.
