IN RE:	HB462 by Miller (Relating to the authority of certain municipalities to collect an infrastructure fee from certain governmental entities.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

House Bill 462 would amend the Government Code so that municipalities with populations of fewer than 25,000 would no longer be prohibited from collecting a fee from a state agency or public institution of higher education for the control of excess water or storm water.

Local Government Impact

Implementing the provisions of the bill could result in recovery of costs for cities that meet the new population parameters. If a unit of local government needed to develop or maintain a program of facilities for the control of excess water or storm water, it could collect infrastructure fees from state agencies and institutions of higher education. The amount of the fees would depend on the size of the project.
