LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

February 15, 2007

TO:
Honorable Mike Krusee, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB484 by Veasey (Relating to the designation of a portion of United States Highway 287 as the Martin Luther King, Jr., Freeway.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to design, construct, and
erect markers designating the portion of United States Highway 287 located in the municipal
boundaries of the City of Fort Worth as the Martin Luther King, Jr., Freeway if TxDOT receives a grant or donation to cover the associated costs.

Based on the analysis of TxDOT, the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
