Fiscal Analysis

This bill would increase the mileage reimbursement rate for soil and water conservation district directors from $0.18 per mile to the current state rate, which is presently $0.445 per mile.

This bill will take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house.  If this bill does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, the act takes effect September 1, 2007.

Methodology

The agency currently allocates $65,000 per year for soil and water conservation district director mileage claims, based on the current rate in statute of $0.18 per mile. Based on current mileage, the agency is anticipating that the cost for mileage claims at the proposed rate of $0.445 per mile would be $160,694 per fiscal year and therefore anticipates needing an additional $95,694 per fiscal year to provide for these claims.

Technology

None.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
