IN RE:
HB572 by Gonzales (Relating to reports of incidents of bullying at public schools and at public school activities.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require school districts to report annually incidents of bullying that occured on school property or at school-related activities in the prior academic year to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) beginning in FY2009. TEA would be required to include information reported under the requirements of the bill in its annual comprehensive report. TEA indicates that updates to the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) required to implement the provisions of the bill could be achieved with current agency resources.
Local Government Impact
School districts would be required to report annually incidents of bullying to TEA.
