IN RE:
HB653 by Chavez (Relating to charitable poker runs that benefit certain nonprofit organizations; providing a penalty.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to charitable poker runs that benefit certain nonprofit organizations by authorizing qualified nonprofit organizations to conduct charitable poker runs and by providing certain penalties for violating the provisions of this bill.

Based on the analysis of the Office of the Attorney General and the Texas Lottery Commission, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

This bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
