IN RE: | HB662 by Dukes (Relating to the coordination and improvement of certain programs and services for the prevention of and early intervention in child abuse and neglect.), As Engrossed |
The bill would require the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to develop a statewide, long-range strategic plan for child abuse and neglect prevention services by December 1, 2008. It would also require the Interagency Coordinating Council for Building Healthy Families to evaluate state-funded child abuse, neglect, and maltreatment prevention programs. DFPS estimates that there would be a minimal impact associated with implementing the provisions of the bill.
