HB670 by Strama (Relating to the enforcement of unpaid child support.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend statute and provide that the state retains jurisdiction for past-due child support until the date all current child support, medical support, and child support arrearages, including interest and any applicable fees and costs, have been paid. It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within current resources.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
