The bill amends the Texas Labor Code to allow an employee up to eight hours of paid leave in each 12-month period to meet with certain persons affecting the education of the employee's child. Based on the analysis of the Texas Workforce Commission, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
This bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
