No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would place limitations on the permissible duration of an in-school suspension and would entitle students and parents or guardians to conferences.  The bill would require the Commissioner of Education to evaluate the academic performance of disciplinary alternative education programs according to the Academic Excellence Indicators established by Texas Education Code 39.051.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
