LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 22, 2007

TO:
Honorable Geanie Morrison, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB841 by Raymond (Relating to leave for junior college district or university system employees who are physically assaulted while on duty.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill provides leave for employees of a junior college district or university system who are physically assaulted during the course of their employment. The Higher Education Coordinating Board estimates that the potential assault incidences, which would prompt actions resulting from this bill, would not have a material impact. Higher education institutions could implement provisions of the bill within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
