IN RE:
HB864 by Callegari (Relating to a garagekeeper's duty to report the abandonment of a motor vehicle.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend the Transportation Code as it relates to a garage keeper’s duty to report the abandonment of a motor vehicle.

Section 1 of the bill amends Transportation Code, Section 683.031(c) which deletes the Department of Public Safety as an alternative to garage keeper’s  informing the abandonment of motor vehicles leaving local law enforcement with jurisdiction in this area.  The bill would take effect on September 1, 2007.

The Department of Public Safety anticipates no fiscal impact to the agency.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
