No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code, Section 411 which would add the offense of capital murder to this section to allow the collection of a DNA sample from individuals upon indictment. This bill would take effect September 1, 2007 and apply only to offenses committed on or after the effective date of the Act.

The Department of Public Safety anticipates that the bill would have no significant fiscal impact to their agency.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
