IN RE:
HB945 by Herrero (Relating to the dates on which certain independent school districts may hold an election of trustees.), Conference Committee Report

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.

Certain school districts would be allowed to change the date of the general election of trustees to provide for a joint election with a municipality that is allowed to hold a general election for offices on a Saturday in April of odd-numbered years under Section 41.0051, Election Code. These districts would also be authorized to adjust the terms of office of trustees to conform to a change in election date.

Certain school districts that held elections for school district trustees jointly with the election for members of the governing body of a hospital district prior to May 2007 would be authorized to continue to hold such elections.
