Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.

Certain school districts would be allowed to change the date of the general election of trustees to provide for a joint election with a municipality that is allowed to hold a general election for offices on any Saturday in April of odd-numbered years under Section 41.0051, Election Code.   The bill would provide an affected school district the authority to adjust the terms of office of trustees to conform to a change made in the election date under the provisions of the bill.
