HB959 by Bonnen (Relating to the statute of limitations for the offense of injury to a child.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Article 12.01 of the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to the statute of limitations for the offense of injury to a child.  The bill would move the offense to a new subsection of Article 12.01 from a subsection that included the offense of injury to an elderly or disabled individual.  To the extent the bill would revise categories of offenses for which there is a ten-year statute of limitations, the fiscal implication to the State is not anticipated to be significant.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
